Good Evening Everyone
Here are the Developer Notes for the date of March 29th, 2019.There isn't much to developer notes as of right now, though it will cover a general gist of what is happening and some of the changes that could be coming to the forum, though hasn't been decided on as of yet.
Once this information is final, you can find the final notes in the updates thread, which you can find here.
Let's go over some of the proposed changes and developer notes.
Structure Re-Work
Considering it has been some time since we have last used this forum, that and the changes to ModernBB (You can find more information on the version of ModernBB below) there are much bigger changes than that of what we are used to. It was proposed that we have a forum that is easy to navigate and better for our fresh members, some of which have never used a forum to role-play before have a nice, and easy transition into our world. The structure is going to be set to where it is not excessively cluttered. While all information will be visible on the homepage (Taking up quite a bit of space on the front if you ask me), it will be clear and concise for anyone that is looking for a particular topic to read or post a reply (which is also easier with ModernBB's setup).
We believe this version of the forum will be more accessible and user-friendly than our last installments of Fukitsuna.
Though if you have some questions or concerns, you can post those here.
PvP Belt System
This is something that we have added before, though never fully got to test to see how it would work with the community. Much like in Judo or Karate, member will be awarded with belts, of which they can earn via Player-Versus-Player events, matches or contests. Now these belts are not handed out automatically through the means of completing PvP related threads, more so a decisions based reward system, and no, begging for belts will not work in your favor believe me.
There will be a total of (8) eight belts for members to earn and will be structure strongly on the Judo progression system that you see in their belt advancement. This decision is not final by any means, though it was originally designed in order to provide initiative for members to engage in player-versus-player activities.
Be on the lookout for this information soon.
Character Creation Template(s)
While this is not an unknown agenda to some that have participating in forum role-playing games before, this is something that we have to keep in mind of with new members who are not used to this role-playing environment as of yet. The character creation template(s) will be reworked so that only necessary information will have to be posted. While there will still be a few abundant questions that you will see on the sheets, it will not be as heavy as our first installment (Eh em, 305 questions). This will allow members making characters not feel as pressured, though will still be needed by each and every member before their role-playing posts will be able to make it to the threads.
Perma-Death System?
Everyone that has role-played is well versed in the idea and concept of Perma-Death. This is nothing new to us. In the previous installment of the forums, we have had this system in play so that members will play the game strategically, I am happy to tell you that we will not be introducing Perma-Death with this installment. Reason being; we are to our core a STORY-BASED ROLE-PLAYING GAME and with story, the Perma-Death is not entirely necessary as members can decide if their character's die off or not within our story. Perma-Death will not be included in PvP (but we are not against requests if they are wanting to make the PvP Match that more interesting to watch)
Badge and Rewards?
Now if you have been with us before, you know that we like to include badges in our role-playing game. Those of you that like badges, good news, we are adding them back to the forum for members. Those of you that don't like badges, sorry, we are adding badges to the forum for our members. In the previous installments there were a HUGE amount of badges for members to earn, for quite silly things if I am being honest. This go around, badges will be more of progression rewards than anything, so they will be prolonged and hard to earn within the first two months of role-playing. Keep in mind, we will not be including holiday event badges to this version, strictly saying because they will build up as the years go on with the role-playing game.
The New Fukitsuna Story
Now with the previous installments, we have always started the role-playing game off with the same concept, the Sinister Seven is already established and everyone knows everyone. With this installment, we are starting from the very roots of our character's purpose in Japah or Chenzhao, the Sinister Seven has not been founded and the Fukitsuna Clan is entering it's first day of even being called a 'Clan" per say within the story. I do not have much information on this as of yet, but more information will be posted in the Official Fukitsuna Story Thread, which will soon be added.
That will cover us for the developer notes on this date.
